Going Dark for Earth Hour 2009 11:03 PM Share

In support of Earth Hour 2009,

we went dark for an hour

from 8.30PM till 9.30PM.

While many Bruneians turn a blind eye on this

instead of turning their lights off,

still some others played their parts

and voted for earth.

It was nice, actually, being in the dark - the world went quieter and the only thing that was important was Earth herself.

On my simpang, my house was the only one going dark - in a stretch of about 8-9 houses, only one remembered Earth...

Apparently RAMBUTANS are called something else in other parts of the world -

When I first heard of it on one of Ugly Betty episodes, I thought that it must be an exotic fruit only found in South America...well, because Ignacio was the one who mentioned it and so I thought it must be the only place where you can find this Tico Berry...

The juicy, succulent part of the fruit.

Anyways, so when they used it in one of the photoshoots and Adriana Lima was holding a Tico Berry, my lil' sister and I were like, " Gosh, that looks a lot like rambutan...wait a minute - that is rambutan...CHIEH!!!"

Oh, by the way, Adriana Lima loves Tico Berry and swears by it - she credits them for her good looks/skin.

I always thought that there has got to be a more glamorous name for these red, hairy, juicy fruits that we always munch on during fruit season. Now that I know there is, I can finally sleep better...

Boastful? Perhaps!

Linguist? 4 years of it - OF COURSE!

For someone who can't tell the difference between 'quite' and 'quiet' or understand, let alone, use the word 'indelible' with precised accuracy, that person has quite the "balls" to say that I'm wrong in a field that I have more expertise in, at least more than THAT person.

And, to make it more appalling in more than one obvious ways, that person is so wrong on so many levels that I cannot even begin to elaborate on.

If I was as naived as that person, I'd kill myself. PERIOD.

And here I am, thanking God, and grateful that I'm not that person...
